Camargue

Waste

Public policy is aiming to drive us at speed towards the creation of a zero waste society.

But there’s a long way to go and explaining the need to reduce, reuse and recycle is only scratching the surface of the communications challenge we face.

The action of the individual is only the start of the process. If we don’t create vital new infrastructure to recycle, reprocess and recover the resources we consume, those actions count
for nothing.

On behalf of our clients in both the corporate and domestic environment we play a fundamental role in creating a tipping point in attitudes and behaviours. Most prominently in 2009 with the development and launch of WRAP’s halving waste to landfill agreement.

But how do we explain the vital role of complex energy from waste technologies in the generation of low carbon energy? How do we tackle the myths and misconceptions that generate such high levels of emotion in our communities?

Camargue understands that the only way to replace suspicion with trust and understanding is through the provision of clear, honest communication as part of comprehensive and open consultation. This approach underpins our work with waste management contractors, developers and County Councils across the country on the construction of new waste
treatment facilities.
