“Camargue has provided us with good support, particularly with developing strategies for communication in line with WRAP’s aims. They have demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the construction sector and its various drivers.”

Energising the construction sector to drive out waste
As the largest producer of post-consumer waste, accounting for one third of all waste sent to landfill, the construction sector has a big issue on its hands. But WRAP had an even
bigger task.
How could it encourage the sector to make a change and reduce this amount? Reaching diverse stakeholder audiences with one clear message that informs, motivates and inspires behavioural change is never easy.
By creating an industry-wide campaign, ‘The Construction Waste Commitment’, Camargue united the sector in halving the amount of waste sent to landfill every year. Just two years after a successful high profile Westminster launch event over 670 signatories are now signed up to the commitment, influencing nearly £38 billion worth of the UK’s biggest construction projects.
An unprecedented result and evidence that with the right approach significant change can happen.
